Accessing Library Journals

OPTIONS

Print Collection
The Library's journal holdings are listed alphabetically by title. Copies of these printed lists may be consulted in the Library or downloaded by linking to the Journals List and printing or saving.

For members and students who are unable to visit in person, Library staff are able to copy, fax or scan articles from the collection (within Copyright limits). Copyright Request/Declaration forms must be completed for EACH article. For further information please go to Photocopying and Printing Service.
To view and print a PDF version of the Copyright Declaration form click here.
All journals are shelved alphabetically by title and no journals can be borrowed or removed from the Library at any time.

Online Access
A search of the Liberty catalog (click here to access) will also provide information about journal holdings in the Library. The catalog also lists the Library's online journals and allows linking to the full text for many titles.
For more information about online journals and obtaining logins and passwords please go to Full Text Journal Access Scheme or contact Library staff.
Library staff can supply print copies of online journal articles at a cost (see library copying and printing fees for the cost of this service) for those users without online access or printing facilities.

Computer Literature Searching

Bibliographic databases
Bibliographic databases allow for subject, author and keyword searching for articles published in journals and other periodicals. Some also index theses and books.
Within the Library, Members and students are able to undertake their own searches on CINAHL, Medline and other databases. Library staff are available to sit with individuals and develop a search strategy which meets their needs. Instruction on how to best use the databases can also be provided, if required. Library staff can also undertake searches on behalf of patrons. For more details go to Computer Searching.
There are six workstations for Library patrons to access within the Library.

Viewing the demonstrations before searching the databases at home may assist in understanding the search process. If you are unsure of which database(s) best meets your needs please consult Library staff. The Library also runs formal sessions on database searching throughout the year.
If it is difficult to come in to the Library you may want to check out our Database Access service.

Links to programs in other states which are similar to the CIAP are available here.
