EN: MEDICATION MANAGEMENT COURSE

This course is a post enrolment course accredited by the Nurses and Midwives Board of NSW. The purpose of the course is to prepare the enrolled nurse to extend their scope of practice to include medication administration (excluding Schedule 8 medications).

The course, which is conducted over 3 months part time, consists of both theoretical and clinical components. The clinical component requires the enrolled nurse to undertake a 40 hour supernumerary clinical placement in a facility approved by the College of Nursing.

Facilities seeking approval to provide the clinical education requirements for medication administration for enrolled nurses are advised to contact the Clinical Coordinator either by phone or email.

Course 33

Tuesday 24 March and Wednesday 25 March

Wednesday 1, 15, 22, 29 April

Followed by 40 hours of supernumerary clinical placement to be completed by 12 June 2009.

Course 34 - FULL

Tuesday 21 and 28 April

Tuesday 5, 12, 19, 26 May

Followed by 40 hours of supernumerary clinical placement to be completed by 10 July 2009.

Course 35

Thursday 28 May

Thursday 4, 11, 18, 25 June

Thursday 2 July

Followed by 40 hours of supernumerary clinical placement to be completed by 14 August 2009.
