HIGHER EDUCATION REGISTRATION
The College has achieved registration as a higher education institution, and accreditation of its graduate certificate courses with the NSW Department of Education and Training under the NSW Higher Education Act 2001. This will further enable College graduates to achieve tertiary recognition and articulation with higher degrees offered by universities.
In accrediting the College's graduate certificates with the NSW Department of Education and Training, a number of courses have been grouped under a single award and speciality streams offered to allow students to undertake studies related to specialty practice.
Course matrixes as outlined below show the specific graduate certificate awards offered in this format.
Many courses are sponsored by NSW Health, however, a limited number of fee paying students are admitted to each course.
Scholarships
This will now enable nurses (who meet the following criteria) to apply for NSW Nursing Scholarship Fund monies offered by NSW Health.
“Scholarships of up to $10,000 are available to registered nurses employed in the NSW public health system who undertake a postgraduate nursing course which leads to an accredited tertiary qualification. Courses must be undertaken within NSW and be accredited under the Higher Education Act (2001).”
Note: this does not apply to students undertaking study for a certificate course.
More information on these scholarships can be obtained via the internet at www.health.nsw.gov.au/nursing/scholar.html.
