ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

This role is responsible for high level clerical and administrative support to the professional Development Services Program. Duties include data base management, client liaison and support to the RCNA workshop program, endorsement and accreditation processes, on-line learning program and other activities, as well as correspondence, word processing, spreadsheet development and some accounting related activities for the Professional Education Services (PES) staff.

This role has a high level of responsibility for maintaining Professional Development data bases and providing timely and efficient administrative services.

Essential criteria:

  • Clerical/administrative experience and a thorough knowledge of office procedures
  • Strong computer skills with experience in a range of computer software particularly database management (File Maker Pro) and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an excellent telephone manner and the ability to interact positively with staff, students and the public
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and to work without supervision
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated accuracy of work and attention to detail

Clinical Facilitators - casual staff

Due to growth in our range of nursing programs, The College of Nursing invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses with an interest in clinical teaching to facilitate the learning experiences of students undertaking on campus clinical simulation and clinical practicum in a variety of nursing programs. The opportunity exists for motivated registered nurses to join us on a casual, periodic basis to support the delivery of classroom and clinical programs to a diverse range of students .This is a very exciting opportunity for exceptional Nurses and a potential gateway for those keen to move into Education and Training.

 
Educational Qualifications:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE 40110) or equivalent qualification in Education.
Experience in clinical facilitation or student preceptorship

Skills and Attributes:
Capacity to deliver existing training programs and assessment activities with a sound knowledge of Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) competency standards
Ability to engage students and make learning interesting and enjoyable
Ability to cater for individual learners' requirements
Good communication skills, resulting in the development of positive and productive relationships with students and colleagues
Problem solving skills

Expressions of Interest - Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program - Sessional Facilitators/Presenters

The College is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from appropriately qualified and experienced Registered Nurses to facilitate and/or present sessions in our CPD program. Facilitators and presenters are engaged by the College on a sessional basis.

Our program is designed to meet the needs of beginning, intermediate and advanced nurses. Courses range in duration from 4 hours to 4 days and are conducted at the College in Burwood and at a range of venues across rural NSW and interstate. Potential applicants can familiarise themselves with the current program by reviewing the Continuing Education Handbook on the College website at www.nursing.edu.au. Additional courses are conducted in response to demand.

Applicants must be registered nurses with a current practising certificate and relevant post graduate qualifications. A Certificate IV in TAA/TAE and/or previous experience in facilitating/presenting is highly desirable.
