Many of our courses offer supported positions to NSW Health employees.

Graduate Certificates
Our Graduate Certificate courses prepare registered nurses for a rewarding career in the health and community services sectors. Designed to meet contemporary practice needs, the courses provide the knowledge, skills and attitudes directly suited to working in specialist areas of health care.

Graduate Certificate qualifications at the College are of an equivalent standard to university qualifications, and can be articulated into university courses, enabling advanced standing towards higher degrees.

Courses are continually reviewed in consultation with educational, clinical and professional experts in the field, to ensure clinical and professional relevance.

Graduate Certificates are conducted over 2 x 20 week semesters and comprise of 4 subjects.

Many of the subjects offered within graduate certificate programs can be studied as a stand-alone course (150 hours) and will attract credit towards postgraduate courses offered by the College and Universities.

Students have the option of undertaking a single subject from over 100 distance education subjects available, allowing nurses to develop a more in-depth knowledge in a particular area, or to sample Graduate Certificate course study prior to enrolling in a full Graduate Certificate.

Courses are continually reviewed in consultation with educational, clinical and professional experts in the field, to ensure clinical and professional relevance.

Continuing Professional Development
The College’s CPD courses have been developed in consultation with key nursing stakeholders across the country, and are built on the strength of over 63 years of experience in providing postgraduate and ongoing education to nurses at all stages of their careers.

We offer in excess of 100 CPD courses every year, covering a wide variety of topics that are balanced, contemporary and clinically relevant. They are offered to registered and enrolled nurses as well as others working in health care. We can provide you with flyers and posters for your workplace which list all of the upcoming courses within a 6 month timeframe.

Each course clearly outlines the number of CPD hours that can be claimed once completed, assisting you in achieving the requisite hours of continuing development for your annual authority to practice renewal with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

The College delivers CPD courses online, face-to-face, via distance education, and sometimes by a combination of these. Our online portal, CNnect, provides a range of online CPD courses, and is continually updated.

Customised Education for Service Providers
Customised Education and Consultative Service (CECS) provides educational programs designed to meet an organisation’s specific learning needs. The courses are delivered at the facility, by expert clinicians, who understand the health care environment.

Overseas-qualified nurses and nurses seeking re-entry to practice
The assessment of competence program is a comprehensive course for nurses holding international qualifications wishing to register in Australia.

This program is also available to nurses previously registered in Australia as a re-entry course where they meet the NMBA requirements for this program.

RTO Courses
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), the College offers nationally accredited training for registered and enrolled nurses. Courses include the Certificate IV in Training and Education, EN Medication Management, Diploma of Nursing and Advanced Diploma of Nursing, for enrolled nurses wishing to specialise.
