Scholarship applications for 2010 - 2011
The College of Nursing offers a suite of scholarships on an annual basis with announcements of these usually in May. These scholarships are intended for a variety of purposes, eg travel, accommodation and registration for conferences, short or formal programs of study, or to support nursing research. The range of scholarships on offer varies on a yearly basis depending upon the wishes of the funding or granting organisations or individuals.
The closing date for applications for the annual scholarships on offer is 31 August. |

The Jo Wattleworth Scholarship - $2,000
The Jo Wattleworth Scholarship is available to undergraduate students undertaking a university course who are current student members of the College. The scholarship is to be used to support the student in their studies. The applicant must produce an essay, learning contract or portfolio of work in which the significance of the psychosocial or humanistic aspects of nursing are featured. This scholarship is offered by Jo Melville, a Fellow of The College of Nursing.

The Maylean Jessie Cordia Memorial Scholarship - $800
In collaboration with The Prince Henry Hospital Trained Nurses Association Incorporated, this scholarship offers a registered or enrolled nurse an opportunity for a member of the College of Nursing to further his or her professional development in a chosen specialty area of nursing to undertake further education. |

The Sul Stuart-Fraser Scholarship - $10,500 total value
This scholarship is open to College members who are registered nurses wishing to undertake post graduate studies in perioperative nursing. Two scholarships are awarded annually for enrolment in the College's Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (value $5250.00 each). Successful applicants will commence studies in February 2011.

Bupa Health Foundation Scholarships - $7,125 total value
There are two scholarships available this year which provide two registered nurses employed within the private hospital sector in Australia an opportunity to gain a postgraduate qualification via a course offered by The College of Nursing. The scholarships are as follows:
1 x Graduate Certificate course (commencing in February 2011) to the value of $5,250 plus $500 to assist with travel and accommodation in Sydney. All other expenses are the responsibility of the recipient.
1 x Distance Education course (commencing in February 2011) to the value of $1,375.
Submission for the Bupa Health Foundation Scholarships must be made by 20 September 2010. |
