OUR EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

In keeping with its objectives, one of the main focuses of the College today is the provision of educational opportunities for nurses.

The College recognises that education is a lifelong process which enables participants to build on and modify previously acquired knowledge, skills and attitudes. The development and provision of education in an increasing range of delivery modes promotes equitable, accessible and flexible learning opportunities within a learner-centred environment.

With the emergence of new knowledge, technologies and continuing social and professional change, the College believes that ongoing education provides a means for maintaining and improving competence in nursing practice, for promoting the exercise of leadership in effecting appropriate change in health care delivery systems, and for fulfilling individual aspirations.

Through the provision of graduate certificate courses, continuing education short courses, distance education modules and seminars in many different subject areas and fields of expertise, the College makes available current knowledge and promotes the development of skills for self-directed learning and the philosophy of education as a lifelong responsibility of the individual nurse.
