Other Scholarships

The College of Nursing is happy to advise that there are other opportunties for funding, which include, but are not limited to the following scholarships.

 

Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship and Support Scheme

The Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship and Support Scheme is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

Scholarships are available for midwives and nurses.

The next round of scholarships are open from 23 July 2012

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Scholarships

The Continuing Professional Development scholarship is worth up to a maximum of $1500 per applicant. The activity undertaken must be eligible to accrue Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia CPD points.

Postgraduate Scholarships
The scheme provides financial assistance in the form of a scholarship worth up to a total of $15 000 per year for up to two years full time study or $7500 per year for up to four years part time study.

Nurse Re-entry scholarships

Applicants can receive up to a maximum of $6000 to complete an accredited re-entry course.

NSW Health announces $10,000 Scholarships to attract more nurses

Re-entry to Nursing Scholarships are a NSW Government initiative to help previously registered or enrolled nurses re-enter the NSW public health system. The NSW Government will offer sixty $10,000 scholarships over the next two years, for those eligible to re-enter the workforce after a break of between 5 and 10 years. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis that recipients will work in the public health system for at least two years.

Local service clubs such as Lions, Rotary etc or RSL, bowling or sporting clubs often look to support local people with education.

Specialty Nursing Organisations

Specialty groups often offer grants for their members. The Coalition of National Nursing Organisation has a list of over 50 of these groups with links to the organisations’ websites.

Trusts and Foundations

These are often private trusts or the philanthropic arms of companies (such as financial, insurance or other corporate entities) that may specifically support education. You can check these all out through your search engines.
